The Matiz is an epoch-making LSI that implements MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 transcoding in a single chip. It can halve the bit rate and double the compression ratio, so HDTV or SDTV contents in MPEG-2 format can be easily stored and transmitted - while retaining premium video quality.
