Several years ago the term ‘IT revolution’ was in widespread use. Whether it will rank alongside the agricultural and industrial revolutions in history remains to be seen, yet there have indeed been some amazing advances in such IT areas as optical communications, the internet, mobile telephones and image processing. With the development of broadband technology, the internet has become part of the social and business activity infrastructure. NEL is proud to be able to make a continuing contribution to this aspect of the IT revolution.

I believe that NEL’s strengths are the outstanding technological development capabilities of our staff and our ability to combine the fruits of cutting edge technology from NTT’s laboratories with product development. I believe NEL can continue to grow as all of our staff work towards the same goals, demonstrating NEL’s capabilities in both existing and new areas together with our business partners. In order to maintain growth we intend to develop ever more solid marketing and sales strategies based on accurately grasping the needs of our customers and developing a well balanced range of distinctive products in each field. Further, we intend to put in place cost reducing procedures and develop products that satisfy customers in terms of price.

At NEL we put customer needs and technology first, provide sophisticated products required by customers in a timely fashion and contribute to advances in IT and the industry. My dream is for NEL to attain the top share worldwide in our specialist fields, for every household to have, in a few years time, an NEL product, and for results that will contribute to the global standardization of technology. More than mere dreams, these are aims that I fully intend to achieve.
